SARDINE RUN SOUTH ÁFRICA
Dates: July 10th to 20th, 2018
The Sardine-Run Expedition is a unique experience that explores the annual migration of sardines on the wild coast of South Africa. The sardines run to the northeast in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean and become what the film producer of the wild life Peter Lamberti has named "The biggest bank on Earth".
What make this so spectacular is not just the giant waves of silver sardines, but the legions of predators that congregate en masse at the East Coast of South Africa in anticipation of the biggest party of the year. As a result, the waters of the Wild Coast boil with sharks, dolphins, Morus Capensis, cormorants, seals and even, sometimes, Orcas, albatrosses and penguins that have followed the sardines thousands of kilometers from the southern ocean.
